Day four/week one of the weight watchers diet...

I am learning that I don't make poor choices on what I eat for meals. I do make poor choices of what to snack on. Junk food is my enemy. Paying attention to what I eat has been a rather eye opening experience. As has balancing my checkbook. I think perhaps that working right next door to a grocery store has had a bad effect on my eating habits.

I can have sugar as long as I allow for that in my points. I can have the things I want to eat, like pizza, as long as I don't overdo it. Paying attention and knowing that I'm going to have to write everything down has made a big difference in my choices.

WW is *wonderful*. I ought to go back on it just using my old books - being responsible for what I eat and keeping within a structure is good for me. Actually, that's why I started using fitday.com - I could just go keep track there. Getting into the habit is hard, but worth it. :-)

It is a really entertaining learning experiance to realize what you really put in your mouth, isn't it? :)

I suspected that you didn't eat that badly and the great thing about WW is that you don't really have to change what you eat. You just need to adjust how much you eat of what you eat. It has certainly changed my outlook on food. I think in points now. And it's so much easier then trying to add up calories and fat grams and all that. WW has made it a little too easy sometimes. :)

I was very suspicious of the WW points system at first, but once I explored it, I saw that it made good nutritional sense. The eating system is really low in calories, but my body accepts it if I add a few more weekly points.

I am eager to follow your posts on this. It's great that you've strated reflecting on how and what you eat---it's always useful for me.

I think most people would be suprised to find where they make some really bad mistakes - not where you would expect to find them at all. It's in the little things that sneak up on you, eating that most folks don't even consider eating at all, probably. Trust me when I say how uber aware I am now of such things, eeeeegad. Keep it up girly girl, big ole' smoochieroo your way (which is, I must point out "sugar" in the southern use of the word, yet has zero calories - so gimme some sugar.... ;p)
