So the contractor finally showed up today at 10:15. Only two days later than originally scheduled. He said that he's not sure if he'll be able to get back out tomorrow but there's a big board he can put up over the hole for the weekend. I did not say that if he had showed up when I had woken up the first day he was supposed to be here then the weekend would not now be interefering. SEE SEE tact!

He does seem very capable and knowledgable. He even uses a wet saw to prevent the kind of dust hell that we were envisioning throughout the house. More as it develops.

On another note; I need a little cat mood indicator that swishes its tail back and forth moodliy. Envision that one instead of the one here.

That would be an egress window in the basement. We're finishing a corner of the basement into a "finished storage" room (at least that's what the city is calling it). Our tenants will use it as a bedroom for awhile and then it'll probably be converted to a sewing room/extra storage space/guest bedroom for us.

It's been driving me insane because we literally started this last November-ish and it's still dragging on. Hopefully, we will be done next weekend.
