Most people on this list know that I enjoy photography. Some may not know that for years I have been using a 35mm Pentax K1000 as my primary camera. Many people over the years have told me that I should upgrade to digital. While I had my reasons to avoid this, the Honey, my mom and sister and their SOs upgraded me this past Christmas. I got a really fabulous 12.1 megapixel Canon Rebel EOSX. Lots of features and stuffs and bells and whistles that I don't even understand yet. I was right about lots of my objections. Many o the skills are not directly translatable. Still, I'm learning, if slowly.

Where the technology bit comes is the root of my biggest objection to switching to digital. Now that I have a new spiffy camera, I need a new computer. What was going to be an investment of $700 turns into $2500 with everthing that becomes necessary for the camera to work. I swear to you, my camera is a better thinker and rememberer than my PC. That, while true, is sad.

So I'm in the market for a new computer. In the midsts of floundering around with the camera's brain I need to figure out what computer would be best to accomodate my growing skills with the imaging. I feel like Charlie Brown here... "AUGH"

I do most of the tech work for my mom, who is a professional photographer with her own studio for 30 years now. (go Mom!)

I helped her go all digital, and have a few know-hows in this area.

Personally, I love Apple laptop hardware, but I am very aware that this does not mean that YOU will love it.
