What sort of neck/chest adornment should one wear when very exposed to in a particular dress?

Nothing
Something big and gaudy- distract from the cleavage
Drop necklace- they are obviously designed to draw attention to the cleavage
Henna decoration
Other- please describe

I favor nothing, or a light piece that, instead of being "follow this line to the depths", hints, with vertical lines, like a discreet arrow.

Something closer to your neck and delicate will distract from cleavage better than big and gaudy or drop necklace.

The type of necklace would vary depending on where you are going. If you are going someplace where you don't want men staring and talking to your boobs, see above. If you are somewhere that you are trying for that, go for drop necklace

Pearls? Fake or real. If they are long enough you could tie them in a knot to make them more like a drop down necklace.

I think on you, a gold necklace that is about one inch or so in width that will lay flat around your neck (over your collar bones). It's tasteful, it neither distracts from or calls attention to the cleavage, and it is a beautiful adornment.

Other - Something choker-like to highlight the amount of space between dress line and your face.

I had a gorgeous henna piece (vines and flowers) once that started in between the breasts and headed up to curve into the neck. I like that idea. :)

If you want to go more classic, pearls are a good choice. You can get a long strand and either twist them around several times and wear as a choker, or wear them more opera length, with or without a knot.

I wouldn't wear anything like a choker/too close to the neck. The dress you're wearing leaves your chest (the space above the cleavage) as an empty canvas if you don't adorn it with something. It would still look "fine" but if I see a woman wearing a dress that gives me an expanse of bare skin I often think "something is missing".
