Question time

I offered pets and hugs to a friend who is ill today. He told me that would be not so good and idea right now. The Honey has to be left alone to sweat out all the evil. I am seeing a trend in which I am completely not participating. Thus the question;

Am I the only person in the world that wants loves and pets when I am seriously ill?

For me, it depends. Some sicknesses, that's ALL I want, to be cuddled and petted and loved on. Other times, when I get sick, it makes my skin hurt and I don't want to be touched. By ANYTHING. I wish I could be naked and hovering the whole time I was sick. So it all depends on the sick for me...

Yep, me too. If I have a sore throat and cold, I want attention and sympathy and cuddles and hot hot tea. If I have the flu, hold my hair while I urp (which my hubby has heroically done, btw) but otherwise leave me the fuck alone.

Fortunately, that's all the sicker I get anymore. Not that I'm trying to rub anything in but this is the FIRST time in my life I've been this healthy and I'm ecstatic. Really, I used to get pneumonia twice a year like clockwork.

Ditto. If I feel kinda punky, headache and sore throat and a little fever, I want hugs and snuggles and kitties piled on top of me. If I'm feeling at all stomachy, I want nothing to do with anyone who is made of solid matter.

Dizziness is a sometimes thing. When I'm dizzy or disoriented, sometimes it can be good to have a friend 'anchor' me physically with touch. Sometimes, though, someone petting or rubbing me at that point will induce this freaky nerve-numbness that I can't handle (the punkin does this especially, as he'll rub my arm or leg or shoulder to comfort me, and it ends up feeling really odd and making the vertigo worse).
