My very first acupuncture appointment happened today. I got stuck with pins and had glass globes, cups, suctioned to my back. Very interesting experience. She went "easy" on me. I think next time I will encourage not easy. There was only one needle that I was feeling. Everything else was pretty much numb. But things got moving anyway! Things flushed out, more things open, actually feeling pain I think...

This the morning after three days of hellish orientation. Three full days of orientation for a group of people that mostly have bachelor's degrees is unnecessary as far as I am concerned. Nearing the end of the third day my body gave out and I walked. Sat in the beautifully air conditioned Borders on my way home and read a book. never make a fibro patient sit for that long in bad chairs. Bad idea. The final insult was a scavenger hunt competition. Running all around this poorly air conditioned school and then a half mile across a field. The leader of my "team" not listening to a word I had to say. Why count 400 lockers when they are numbered and we can do elementary subtraction? I mean really.

I left. It was empowering. Now I am off to work.

I didn't even get that much when I started college at 18 in the dark ages ;-)

Good for you for leaving.

Very neato. I'm on a schedule with one of the interns and she's gonna try to help with the chi blockages that are caused by or are causing the fibro. Very exciting to work with someone on this that doesn't shy away from the term energy healer.

My ONE session of acupuncture pretty much cured my migraines outside of food allergy induced ones. (Though part of that was probably because I was having a massive migraine at the time I gave in and tried acupuncture.)

And I used to get them on a bi-monthly basis, and be out of work for a couple days due to the migraine, and the following "hang-over".

I only had 4-6 hours of "orientation" when I started graduate school. Undergrad was something like 3 hours of dis-orientation. Bah.

By the by, I mentioned you in a recent post of mine. :D
