I believe I have found my home away from home in Paris. Ever the book lover, I have found the place where starving writers have been given a home and hope for publication since WWI. I feel these walls talking more than Notre Dame... Maybe my true religion is of the mind, knowledge and the communication thereof. The second floor of this place is filled with books "Not For Sale." 1000's of them wanting to be touched and read. There is an ancient typewriter they encourage you to sit and see what the muses of creativity will gift you with and the sign, "Not a toy, please do not let your child play on it." Hemingway lived and wrote here.

Right out the window you see the Seine and the front of Notre Dame. There is an old picture of some famous resident sitting where I am, looking out this same window. I love this place.

Picking up some books while I'm here. The British version of Terry Pratchett's Interesting Times and Brisingr in paperback. Its not scheduled to be out in paperback in the US til next April! Win!

I love Shakespeare & Co. I spent hours there one cold, grey February over 25 years ago. Thanks for reminding me. Have you been to Notre Dame at 4 pm on Sunday. When I was there, that was when they did the organ concerts. You have not lived until you've sat through organ music in Notre Dame. The music reverberates through your bones.
