When I lived in Sevilla, I bought a kit kat from the news kiosk by my house several times a week on the way home from school. I also ate a lot more McDs french fries than I would have had I been state-side. Now that I have moved cross country, I understand culture shock as it effects my brain a little better. There is a stress associated with everything always being new, it maybe a low-level stress or the new stuff may be amazing and wonderful, but it is stress nonetheless. A little familiarity goes a long way for one's brain.
