B&N vs Borders
Oct. 1st, 2011 03:57 amI just got an email from B&N saying that they bought the customer information from Borders and want the opportunity to earn my business. If I want to opt out follow x link and we will dispose of your info when we get it in a safe and secure manner.
This gives me pause because when I signed up for the Borders Rewards program I was told that they would not give away or sell my information. Is that sort of thing simply an arrangement of convenience, saying one thing but when they really need the money they will sell it anyway? I suppose I don't really care if B&N has my email and sends me notices of things that I might be interested in. It feels lacking in a certain amount of integrity though.
I will admit to not liking B&N because they serve Starschmucks coffee. Independent bookstores here I come. Hehehe, at least I will once I have money. Libraries have become my friend again in the past few years.
