Life as unemployed was short lived. Got a temp assignment for today 1-7. $9/hr. Not great but I am apparently still in the running for the $14/hr job down town. Need to call her. That would effin rock. To have a level of comfort financially for the first time since moving to this state. *positive thoughts* Till then every little bit helps. Now all I have to do is shower and get dressed, professionally style. Hehehehe

*sigh*

Two posts in one day! Its been a while.

Its warmer here than I really expected it to be. I know I didn't expect to have internet service. Though I don't suppose I was given enough information to accurately predict what I should have expected.

So, I'm in a trailer in the *middle* of a construction zone and the only bathroom is the Biff's port-a-potty outside with no heater. Joy. I was told that there would be a sheet with answers to any questions that would possily come up over the phone. Got here, no sheet. Called the office, no info. So I'm supposed to be taking down names and giving them the number they just called and telling them they should call back tomorrow during regular business hours. Over an hour now and nobody has called. I'm assuming that I'm realy here to increase the temp in the building for the appropriate amount of time so they can say the shift was covered. Luckily I have the internet, three books, and a paper to write to keep me busy while my body heat is stolen to lower the bills in this trailer.

BTW did I mention that costruction bathrooms suck?

Oy! Four hours into a 6 hour shift. One person has walked in and one marketing company's machine called to say that they'd been trying for some time to get a hold of me before I hung up. I feel for the lady who does this full time, though the commission she's getting on selling million dollar homes probably makes up for a lot.

Still cold. Finished one book and started the next.

Left the nice lady a note about the guy who walked in. He reeked of slimy sales guy. Just the right suit, sleek hair, perfectly firm yet beeseeching handshake. Ick. Kinda reminded me of Tony hon.

The thermostat swears its 69 degrees in here. I'd like to argue that point. I see no way of changing the temp either so I'm stuck trying to type with gloves on. Luckily I have the type that have the ends cut off so I actually have fingertips. Its just taking longer than normal to make sure all the typos are corrected.

I think I'm going to pack a backpack for my assignments from now on. Hot cider mix should be included. A small stereo(here is where the wish for an mp3 player comes in) would also be handy. This place would be immeasurably improved by some music, even classical would work. A couple of granola bars. All the nail neccesities. Lotion and hand sanitizer(thank anything you wish there was some in the port-a-potty). My filter water bottle, assuming I can find the thing. I hate being gone when cleaning is happening. Can't find a bloody thing. My notebook and poetry book.

I really ought to work on homework. What is the nature of sacrifice?

Five more minutes and I have once again proved to myself that I can waste an entire day doing absolutely nothing. Not really sure I like this. I prefer to get paid to do something not just be around to call the police to come and do something IF something happens. Here's hoping the Shreadsheet job pans out. That'd be doing something, not sure what but something.
