Though it's hard, today's medicine means that both baby and mother will likely survive, where they wouldn't even fifty years ago. My little one also needed some supplemental oxygen, though not as much at this sounds like. However, with the IV and adequate breathing, the baby will be able to survive long enough to heal himself.

I'll be lighting a candle for this overnight, and probably when our group celebrates Yule as well. Good health for a baby is always supported.
