fabric whoring

In addition to the computer, I have ordered samples of "cross shot" dupioni that I am interested in buying for the dress I need to make. Most of them are shades of blue but there are a couple reds in there. I'm really excited to see them. You can't really tell what color they are on screen so I wanted to handle them. Compare to what I have. So I have 6 different samples of 1/8 of a yard of fabric winging their way to me. What does one do with 1/8 of a yard of fun colored silk? :D Have fun of course.

Make quilts. Just saying.

that would require me to make a quilt...

Give them to someone to make a quilt for you *bats eyes innocently*

Stitch them together and make a rockstar reusable grocery bag or three. :)

Its not even gonna be a yard. I think I'm leaning towards using the strips as decoration for something.

Is perchance a "thus" kind of word? ;p

Yes, I believe 'tis.

Wrap tarot cards in them? Dress shrines with them? Make medicine bags or herbal sachet pillows or or or...

It's silk. The possibilities are endless. :-)

Hmm, if they arrive in time I may use parts for the Ostara we're planning.

Where?

[identity profile] krkhst.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 04:18 pm (UTC)(link)
did you order them from perchance?

Do they charge for the swatches?

They do. Its whatever the smallest amount they will cut of that particular fabric is, usually 1/8 of a yard, plus 4.95 shipping. The max number of samples they will ship is 8.

I love Denver Fabrics.

1/8 of a yard is good for tying things up. *grin*
