Question time

I offered pets and hugs to a friend who is ill today. He told me that would be not so good and idea right now. The Honey has to be left alone to sweat out all the evil. I am seeing a trend in which I am completely not participating. Thus the question;

Am I the only person in the world that wants loves and pets when I am seriously ill?

For me, it depends. Some sicknesses, that's ALL I want, to be cuddled and petted and loved on. Other times, when I get sick, it makes my skin hurt and I don't want to be touched. By ANYTHING. I wish I could be naked and hovering the whole time I was sick. So it all depends on the sick for me...

I think it's more of a male/female dynamic. Men tend to want to hide away in their caves until they are better.

It depends. Sometimes it hurts for anything to touch me. Sometimes it makes me more stressed that I have to move someone to run to the bathrom. Other times, I want hugs and snuggles while sick.

It really really depends.

I'd rather have hugs or cuddles than pets - especially if my stomach is off; then it's almost as likely to trigger nausea as anything else.
As I've gotten older, I've gotten more self-sacrificing about it; "I want snuggles, but I don't want you sick, so I'll say I don't want snuggles and just wrap the blankets tighter"
Then again, I also have a strong tendency to push my way through colds and the like while admitting I'm sick in as few ways as possible.
