According to the online definitions it is a hypersensitivity or inappropriate or exaggerated reactions of the immune system to a substance that the general population has no problems with.

I think it is understood that cigarette smoke is an irritant. I can't say I believe that generally people have no problems with it though. I will cop to having a greater than normal reaction to it. G and the Honey did not get this ill.
